Minutes of the January 25, 2005

The meeting opened with the common table prayer.

President Deb Kesse called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. Those in attendance were Craig Braget, Pastor Burcham, Lou Grotheer, Deb Kesse, Dave Sengpiel, Shawn Woolman, and Ken Wunsch. There were no visitors.

President Kesse requested the minutes from the December 14, 2004 meeting be approved. Dave Sengpiel made a motion to accept the minutes. Ken Wunsch seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The Board reviewed the Senior Pastor's Report dated January 11, 2005. The following items were discussed:

•  The average Sunday morning attendance continues to be well above the past. There were 1439 worshippers in attendance on December 24, 2004.

•  Pledges are above last year and are still coming in.

•  A preview of the worship page that will be in the Weekly Word was reviewed.

•  Pastor reported that he would be discussing having 2 Good Friday services this year – one will be child-friendly. He is also proposing 4 Easter services. He would preach at all 4.

•  The Adult ministry task force has met and recommended a change in the organization structure to provide a stronger focus on this area.

The Financial Report for December 2004, submitted by Business Manager, Charlotte Nutter, was reviewed. President Kesse requested the Financial Report be approved. Dave Sengpiel made a motion to approve the report. Craig Braget seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The board was joined by the Elders for a joint presentation on the synodical constitution changes. Pastor showed us the presentation that he will be using on Sunday at the congregational meeting.

A motion was made by Shawn Woolman to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m. Ken Wunsch seconded the motion.
