Governing Board Minutes

Call to Order:  President Mark Kramer called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. In attendance were Jason Hoffman, Casey Fluegge, Wendi Canada, Barb Miles, Marv Rohn, Bruce Amendt, Ann Zimmermann, Mark Kramer, Lorrie Graaf, and Pastor Burcham.

Consent Agenda:

• The minutes from the October 9, 2012 board meeting were accepted by consensus.
• After discussion, the financial report was accepted by consensus.

Senior Pastor Report:

• Pastor Burcham reported that the construction projects are now completed.
• The Auxano Vision Frame Team is scheduled to meet on November 19, 2012 with the Navigator, Jeff Meyer.
• Gloria Dei has the opportunity to nominate candidates for the LCMS 2013 Election that will take place at the Synod Convention July 2013. After discussion, Marv Rohn moved to nominate Rev. David P. E. Maier for office of President, Rev. Dean W. Nadasdy for office of First Vice-President, and Rev. Dr. Steven Turner for Regional Vice-President.

Jason Hoffman seconded the motion. Motion carried.

• Pastor Burcham reported on the progress of the 2012/2013 initiatives.

Policy Manual Review:
The Board discussed specific changes to Section 2 of the Governing Board Policy Manual. The changes will be made and brought to the next meeting for approval. The Board will review and discuss Sections 3-4 at the next meeting.

Current Action Items:
Gloria Dei Foundation – The Foundation Board is working on the By-Laws and have added two more members to the Foundation Board: Becky Fluegge and Casey Cason.
Committee to Revise Task Timeline policy – The committee discussed specific changes to the timeline with the Board. The changes will be made and voted on at the next meeting.
Congregational Listening Post – Board members received positive comments for the memorial service for Pastor Dan Parsch, as well as questions regarding use of the cry room.

The Board will not meet in December.
