Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Governing Board
August 21, 2012
Call to Order: President Mark Kramer called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. In attendance were Casey Fluegge, Jason Hoffman, Wendi Canada, Barb Miles, Marv Rohn, Bruce Amendt, Ann Zimmermann, Mark Kramer, and Pastor Burcham.
Not present was: Lorrie Graaf.
Consent Agenda:
- The minutes from the July 17, 2012 board meeting were accepted by consensus.
- The minutes from the July 31, 2012 special board meeting were accepted by consensus.
Senior Pastor Report:
- Executive Director Bill Jesse’s report provided a separate set of financials for the Aurora Campus Improvement projects.
- Pastor Burcham reported Bill Clark negotiated a purchase price of $5 for “The Story” to be used in the next sermon series. Gloria Dei will make it possible to provide one for guests worshiping with us. The suggested donation for Gloria Dei’s members will be $6 per book.
- The Auxano meeting has been moved to the September/October timeframe to accommodate assignments made from the July meeting, and the center wing update.
- Pastor led the Board on a tour of the started projects for the Aurora Campus Improvements (ACI).
- The Board will be provided with an updated Policy Manual.
Current Action Items:
Gloria Dei Foundation – Marv Rohn reported the Foundation has met. They are working on the Mission Statement, Procedures, and the Bylaws. The Foundation President is Doug Pals.
Committee to Revise Policy Manual – Wendi Canada, Marv Rohn, and Casey Fluegge will review items listed on the Board’s Tasks Timeline that do not appear to have direction on when they would be completed in the Policy Manual. The date set for the Board’s review on these tasks will be the October Board meeting.
Congregational Listening Post – Nothing was heard to discuss.
