Accepted Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Governing Board
October 31, 2011 – Special Meeting

The Board met and toured the Hickman site at 9060 Hickman Road, Clive.

Call to Order:  President Mark Kramer called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. In attendance were Casey Fluegge, Kevin Kelley, Jason Hoffman, Wendi Canada, Barb Miles, Marv Rohn, Bruce Amendt, Mark Kramer, and Pastor Burcham.

Not Present: Ann Zimmermann was not present.

Visitor Recognition:  Laura Rath was present as recording secretary.

Voting Documents: The Board reviewed and discussed the wording for the congregational letter explaining the December vote, as well as the voting ballot and absentee ballot. Kevin Kelley motioned to approve the ballots with the changes discussed. Barb Miles seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Comprehensive Plan Document: Pastor Burcham asked the Board for a written introduction for the Multi-site Ministry Comprehensive Plan—Aurora and Hickman Sites document, due to Karen Kennedy by Friday, November 4. Wendi Canada, Casey Fluegge, Bruce Amendt, and Jason Hoffman agreed to serve on a subcommittee to write this.

Cottage Meetings: Pastor Burcham asked for Board representatives at each of the scheduled Cottage Meetings. Laura Rath will coordinate the schedule.

Aurora Campus Improvements: The Board discussed using a congregational survey to prioritize optional improvements to the Aurora campus. Tentative date is January 2012. Pastor Burcham, Bill Jesse, Executive Director, and Brandon Simpson, Facilities Manager, will make a list of necessary maintenance projects for the Board to review at the November 8, 2011 Board meeting.
